Keiichi Ito
Keiichi Ito was born in Tokyo in 1950. In 2005 he left the computer company where he had worked for many years and made a fresh start as a photographic artist. Ito uses traditional handmade washi to create photographic prints that focus on the traditional Japanese aesthetic of "Ma". Since 2009, his work has been exhibited in galleries and museums in Tokyo, Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands and at art and photo fairs in Amsterdam, Cologne, Berlin, Munich, Basel, and Taipei.
His photo book, "Tools," shows traditional Japanese tools as its subject matter to express his will to pass on Japanese tradition. It is included in the collection of the National Art Library in the UK.
